Publisher Electronic Arts is returning to Valve's storefront; Steam. EA's Origin was launched back in 2011 which showed a slow decline in the publisher's presence on Steam until eventually they stopped supporting launches on Steam altogether. In anticipation of its release next month, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is currently open for preorders on Steam. EA also has plans to include its EA Access subscription model for Steam users in the future alongside past released titles such as Battlefield V, Apex Legends, and FIFA 20 to name a few.
An important note is that certain third-party games found on Origin Access (ie: Batman: Arkham Asylum or Darksiders III) won't be present for Steam users. EA is also working on key integrations between EA Access on Steam and Origin Access to allow players to play together. The price for EA Access on Steam will remain the same as Origin Access or consoles at $4.99 per month or $29.99 per year on a basic subscription. This is a positive step moving forward for EA as a publisher; providing a convenient and frictionless experience for players to play with others on the platform they choose to play on.
